Information for consumers at four events called “Europe within Reach” in Prague, Liberec, Olomouc and Ústí nad Labem. Two lectures on consumer rights in Pilsen and Hradec Králové. This is the offer of the European Consumer Centre for the Single Market Week from October 15 to October 20, 2012.
Regional fair Europe within Reach
As part of the 20th anniversary of the European Single Market and in line with the European Single Market Week activities, the European Commission Representation in the Czech Republic is organising in Prague on 16/10/2012 a regional fair of European information network present in the Czech Republic. During this one day open-air event entitled “EU at reach” the European information network and institutions will be presented to the visitors in a new and attractive way. The organizers prepared also an interesting accompanying programme which will also be seen in other three Czech cities, Liberec (17/10/2012), Olomouc (18/10/2012) and Ústí nad Labem (23/10/2012).
The representatives of various information centres and network will present the opportunities on how to, for example, find a work in other EU countries, the possibilities of studying at European universities, the conditions for entrepreneurship in other European countries or the consumers rights across the EU.
The fair will bring together the European Parliament Information office, the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic, the network supporting businesses and entrepreneurs – Enterprise Europe Network, the internal market problem-solving network Solvit, the European Consumer Centre, the National Agency for European Educational Programmes, the youth information network Eurodesk, the European Job mobility portal Eures, and the representatives of the European Economic and Social Committee. The information portal on the rights of every EU citizen, Your Europe, will also be presented.
On the main stage, the visitors will have a chance to take part in the contest that will allow them to bike 900 km from the Czech Republic to Brussels on stationary bicycles and prove that the EU is really not that far. The visitors who decide to participate in the contest and in the quiz about the European Single Market may win small prizes and an interesting main prize. The programme also includes an interview with representatives and users of various European networks and institutions at the European, national and regional level.
