Today we remind ourselves of the speech given by the American president J. F. Kennedy who in Congress on March 15, 1962, spotlighted the consumers' role in economics and as the first world politician addressed the need to protect the rights of consumers. Since then consumers and their organizations mark this date as the World Consumer Day. Also the European Consumer Centres' Network (ECC-Net) joins this Day as since 2005 they help consumers resolve their problems with traders from other EU countries as well as Norway and Iceland.
